Such a document states that\u00a0<em>\u201call options should be on the table\u201d<\/em>. This isn\u2019t limited to just the impediment on the stablecoins very development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An impossible decision<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prepared by Finland, the document is an original text, which currently holds the six-month rotating presidency of the European Union Council, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/eu-reaffirms-potential-move-to-block-facebooks-cryptocurrency\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CT<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cBeyond emphasizing that preventing the project\u2019s development remains a possible measure, the document states that Libra and similar initiatives \u201cshould not begin operation in the EU\u201d until all challenges and risks have been identified and tackled.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The document highlights that currently, the lack of ironclad clarity surrounding Libra\u00a0<em>\u201cmakes it impossible to reach definitive conclusions on whether and how the existing EU regulatory framework applies.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Regulators and lawmakers within the EU have got to act now and quickly but should evenly allow for any new rules being based on \u2018sound evidence\u2019 and \u2018general principles\u2019 that it would apply to all prospective global stablecoins according to the document.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The president of Romania\u2019s Fiscal Council, Daniel Daianu<\/strong> spoke in an interview earlier this week on Wednesday and classed the Facebook stablecoin as a very dangerous asset, noting that these kinds of entities\u00a0<em>\u201care part of the logic of those who believe that there is a need for parallel markets, the disappearance of central banks [&#8230;] The financial crisis ruined the reputation of governments and central banks, and some think we need other currencies, parallel circuits, non-hierarchical structures [&#8230;] It is not by chance that libertarians are so attached to this vision.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cryptodaily.co.uk\/2019\/11\/eu-continue-to-look-into-libra-over-privacy-worries\">Read the article on CryptoDaily<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>November 10, 2019 &#8211; CryptoDaily By\u00a0Robert Johnson EU are doubling down on their commitment to Libra.
