En 1979, S.E. M. Dennis rejoint le mouvement de lib\u00e9ration de l\u2019ANC et prend part \u00e0 la lutte anti-apartheid. Il revient en Afrique du Sud en 1991, apr\u00e8s la lev\u00e9e de l\u2019interdiction des mouvements de lib\u00e9ration. En 1994, apr\u00e8s les premi\u00e8res \u00e9lections d\u00e9mocratiques en Afrique du Sud, il fait son entr\u00e9e dans la fonction publique. Entre 1994 et 1999, il exerce les fonctions de d\u00e9put\u00e9 puis de directeur en chef du Service de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 national. De 1999 \u00e0 2009, il est directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du Service de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 ext\u00e9rieur. S.E. M.
