UN Sahara envoy launches latest Maghreb tour
In his speech at the World Policy Conference in Marrakech on Saturday (October 16th), King Mohammed VI said that the Moroccan autonomy proposal has gained acceptance of the Security Council and in the international community because it stems from a realistic view of the Maghreb Union and is based on “internationally recognised democratic standards”.
On the sidelines of the Marrakech Forum, Mohammed VI met UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and broached the developments on the Sahara. In his turn, Ban underlined his personal commitment to endeavour for the settlement of the dispute and voiced hope to see Ross’ visit lead to “fruitful” discussions between the parties…
