Morocco was suggested to be turning into a key manufacture hub for France’s Renault over the next years.

The statement was made by CEO of Renault Group Carlos Ghosn at the World Policy Conference (WPC) in Rabat.

The CEO of the French vehicle manufacturer confirmed that the couple of factories located in Casablanca and Tangier are expected to hit a capacity of 500,000 cars production annually.

Tangier plant, by now, has turned into a key production plant in Africa as it provides an annual vehicles capacity of 340,000, the CEO stressed, noting that 60 percent of the vehicles are exported overseas.

Morocco’s automotive sector recorded over 50 percent of an existing local sourcing rate with 85,000 workers.
