COMMENT – Japan must play key role in drawing up new global security framework
TOKYO — Nearly a year has passed since Russia invaded Ukraine. With Moscow continuing its brutal assault on Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure, there is little hope of a cease-fire, let alone a peace agreement.
One thing, however, has become clear: Moscow’s aggression against Ukraine is likely to end in failure, leaving Russia history’s big loser. It is high time for the major powers to begin laying out a vision of a new world order for when the shooting stops.
