Pier Carlo Padoan

OECD Deputy Secretary-General since 2007 and Chief Economist since 2009. Prior to joining the OECD, he was Professor of Economics at the University La Sapienza of Rome, and Director of the Fondazione Italianieuropei, a policy think-tank focusing on economic and social issues. He was the Italian Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (2001-2005). He has been a consultant to the World Bank, European Commission, European Central Bank. He has a degree in Economics from the University of Rome. He has published widely in international academic journals and is the author and editor of several books.
