President Park lays out ‘trustpolitik’ plan for world peace, stability

President Park Geun-hye says North Korea’s nuclear ambitions are a grave threat to peace on the Korean peninsula, Northeast Asia and the world.

Speaking at the annual World Policy Conference in Seoul this morning, she said the lack of trust and cooperation, especially among countries in Northeast Asia, was also jeopardizing stability in the region.

To turn the tide, President Park reintroduced her vision for creating a “trustpolitik,” by which trust and cooperation would be developed through non-political exchanges not only between the two Koreas but also countries in Northeast Asia and Eurasia.

She also reiterated her drive for reunification, saying a unified Korea would bolster global governance for world peace.
