He started his career as a lecturer in economics at the University of Paris 13 and was a member of the Department of Industry’s Minister’s Office and the Prime Minister’s Office. In 1986, he joined Danone where he held various positions, including Corporate Development Director and member of the Executive Committee. In 1997, he joined the Rothschild Bank as General Partner; he was Head of the Consumer Products Group, Head of Middle East and Africa. He then served as CEO of the Private Equity firm PAI Partners (2009-2015). He graduated from École Normale Supérieure, Sciences Po, the London School of Economics and La Sorbonne in History and Economics. He is a professeur agrégé de sciences économiques et sociales.
